internal breakdown of cat, not too strange for a high mileage car, what year is your car again??? is it under the car or under the hood???also consider changing out the o2 sensors as well if you haven't yet.......

also it might throw on the ck engine light for rear o2 cat inefficiency, since it's rattling and causing havoc in the exhaust stream....

then if there is physical damage, then you must've dislodged something in there......hence, the rattling..........and as far as i can remember, the oe just bolts on, no biggie.......

so it's an early '98 model then.........take it to a muffler shop i guess, and might as well try on some free-flow cat........
