Old,

Once you figure the Max Towing, then Many/Most say to not go over about 80% of Max for Safety Factor as well as Pulling Ability. Pay Close Attention to the Max Tongue Wgt., (You want the Truck/Trailer to Tow Level); As well as Max Frontal Area and Try to Keep those to a Minimum. Pushing Air out of the Way can have a Tremendous Affect.

Good Luck,

Good Luck,
I think I look for a camper less than 4880 lbs then if I'm doing my math right. Max tow is 6100lbs.

Old,

Remember that the Max Tow Weight Shown is with just a Driver and unloaded Truck. This is calculated in the GVWR & The Gross Combined Weight Rateing, but has as substantial Reduction in Max Tow Weight depending on how much extra weight that the Truck is loaded with in the Cabin as well as what is on or in the Bed, includeing the Weight of the Receiver and/or the the extra's on the Hitch/Tongue(Weight Distributeing Hitch) to make the Truck/Trailer Tow Level. Don't forget the Rear Axle Weight Rateing as well.

It's a little bit extra time to figure it all out,, but time well spent before purchaseing and especially before heading down the road.

Just take your time and use Google search to help you out. It's a Whole lot better to have a little Less Weight than a Little bit too much weight. Elementary for sure,, but Pulling the Load is only 1/2 of it. Got to take into account of Stopping and Especially in an Emergency Brakeing Situation ~ Especially going DownHill. Imperative to have Excellent Trailer Brake's and Very Good Brake Controller that is easy to reach and adjust without takeing your eye's off the Road.

Remember the Trailer Frontal Area. Some go 5th Wheel to reduce the Frontal Area, and it might be easier to get the Truck/Trailer Level. For me I don't want a 5th wheel in the Bed,, but for some other's they wouldn't have it anyother way. Just a little food for thought.

Nissan explains this in the Owner's Manual. WorthWhile in my opinion to study what Nissan explains in the owner's Manual.

Good Luck and Just take Your Time and Try to Read Between the Line's with the SalesMan.
