i have a horror story for you all...

i was going to work and i came upon a 4 way stop and my brkes failed, i had the pedal all the way to the floor, and still nothing, and i tried like 3-5 times and still nothing.... i didnt even think to use the ebrake, but i still hit the car in front of me because my brakes didnt work, (no pressure at all) does any one know what might have caused this?

edit: at least i know that my airbags worked lol

Sorry to hear this, hope no one was hurt.
When that happened to me with my Camero the master cylinder seal failed.
The dual circuit meant I still had the rears, but couldnt stop and went into an intersection on a red light. luckily I didn't hit anyone.

well first things first, check your brake fluid level.
If its Ok, then yes go ahead and replace the master cylinder.
I looked up the price for a re-built and they are about $70
You can also get a rebuild kit and do it yourself... i would guess about $10.
