1990 300zx N/A 96k miles, sittin for 2 years untouched...bad news for me

SO...i got an update to share with fellow z owners....I had problems with my Z from starting up to fuel delivery. i couldnt get past 20mph. so i had a Z specialist look at it.
THINGS I HAD TO GET DONE:
1. New Spark Plugs
2. New MAF Sensor
3. New Battery
4. New Fuel Pump
5. New Alternator
6. New Drive Belts

after all that was done...the car drove beautifully for about 2 days and then all of a sudden it was back to the 20mph problem...so the reason for that the mechanic found out it was the fuel TANK itself had moisture in it and it was rusted...everytime i put gas in it the rust debris would begin mixing again and the fuel filter keep getting clogged....so he let the car idle with a half tank of gas...that still didnt help....so now he thinks he might have to change the fuel tank which is $350 with labor.

thats all i got for now after i get it back from the shop i will update and if all is well...it would be MODDING TIME!!!!!!

total spent on car(maintenance):
CAR - $2500
EVERYTHING ELSE: $1200 + $350
TOTAL: $4050 (DAYUM) :eek:

sorry for the late response....i just got back today from new york.....but i am positive it is rust....maybe due to the fact that it was sitting there with a quarter tank of gas for 2 years with even starting.....but even my mechanic found rust inside the tank....i havent called him yet but as soon as i do i will update here also...THANX

IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!

congratulations to me!!!! my 300zx is finally up and running. i got it back from the shop on thursday and man is it running. NOW i know the true power behind a 300zx man. IT IS REDLINING!!!! beautifully...I do need a new shift knob and boot....and a can of R-12(dont wanna do the conversion yet already spent a load of money)....man i wish i took pictures of the rust in the gas tank OMG...its like galveston island sand in there.....after he let it sit outside and let the gas and stuff evaporate...it was like sumbody threw shovels of sand in there...it was really ridiculous you could literally grab a handful of dirt or rust or watever it was.....but it's ok it was really worth it on my opinion i was about to give up and part out with it....well that's it all i need now is a couple of websites that offer reliable but cheap accessories and things like that...any suggestions?????

o yea and i got REMUS exhaust put on from my mechanics old Z that he bought for parts....sounds great except that the Exhaust Flanges broke because of rust...i'm taking it tomorrow to get it welded on for like 20 bucks NO PROBLEM!!!

thanx for your support!!!!:woowoo:
