Hey all I just brought a 2000 Nissan Primera (Nz model)

Anyhow i got it supercheap becuase it starts missing untill it wont run and just stops

so ive pulled the battery out to charge it as its dead flat
and pulled the coils off as i was gunna pull the plugs but i dont have an extension long enough

So ive started pulling some interior bits out to find the ecu to check that out
Someone had said the ecu was in the engine bay but heres two pics of where they have said it should be

Dude the ECU should be behind the radio. Pull the kick panels for the center console and thats where your ecu should be.

Thought so

Will pull it and check for any burnt parts of circuit board or anything just been priced $350 + gst ($NZD) for a second hand ecu

Picked up 4x NGK BKR5E11 plugs tonight and will put them in and see how that goes, took the battery to work and its toast so will chuck a new one in tomorrow

Does anyknow the factory sparkplug gap? 1.0mm?

Top Gear crashes England's only Nissan GT-R press car

Top Gear has had its fair share of mishaps. There was that time the Stig took the Koenigsegg CCX on an off-track excursion, and of course Hammond's horrific crash in the jet dragster. The latest incident involves the one and only Nissan GT-R press car in Great Britain. Apparently it was involved in a fender bender in the Isle of Man after a photoshoot for Top Gear magazine. It seems that the GT-R wasn't damaged too badly, despite the pic of its naked arse above, and the same exact car ran up the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed only a couple days later.

Well i just pulled out the ECU and put the new sparkplugs in, it had NGK BKR6E-11 plugs in it when its recomened to have BKR5E-11 plugs in it

Have removed the cover off the ecu and apart from some black sooty stuff inside the lid the circut board looks fine i have checked the back of the circuit board tho yet

Old sparkplugs looked Ok excepet from being quite sooty

Ok so i refitted the ecu and put in the new battery (the right one this time)

Now it starts up and runs ok but the rev counter needle flickers and it wont idle, if you hold the revs on then let it return to idle it just dies

I was wondering if these are knowen for having crook stepper motors(idle control motor)?
