Ok, I have a 1989 b12 sentra fwd wagon and it needs new suspension. I'm looking to replace the struts, springs, strut mounts and ball joints to oem level. No need for upgrades. I want to do all the work myself, if possible. And I'm definitely a newb.

From hunting around the forums and other sites, I've found two options.

The first one is the Monroe quick-strut. Monroe Quick-Strut - The Professional's Choice for Strut Replacement

It's a kit that has everything you need to replace your suspension. I can buy it locally for about $120 canadian each corner. So about $480. Pretty cheap. But I wonder if it's worth the time, effort, money.

The other option is to go with the KYB G2 struts. I can get them from Lordco at $99 Canadian each. They couldn't tell me what kind of springs to use with these. Does anyone here know? I'd also have to find matching struts mounts. Has anyone here does this?

While I'm in there anyway, I figured I'd replace my ball joints. A mechanic I know told me to also check my tie rods for play and replace those if necessary. I'm guessing the ball joints and tie rod ends will be a whole other thread...

thanks!

I work at shucks and we sell monroe struts for your b12 for like 60~ dollars each or so, you can get a mount kit for around 10 and springs for about 30. You can also rent a coil spring compressor(which is safe and easy) for free(if you use it for 1 day) and the ball joint separator.
