Hi, new here..

I have a 1984 sunny (sentra) B11, it's totally stock, 45,000 miles, e15 carb engine with 5 speed manual transmission.

the gears are really notchy on cold mornings, mainly 2nd and 3rd gear.

even when warmed up none of the gears really feel great.

I am wondering if some synthetic oil might help, and what viscosity it would be best to try? semi or fully synthetic? someone even told me to put some ATF in there, is that a good idea?

I checked the level and it is full. it looks like the previous owner checked it recently, maybe he changed the oil for the wrong stuff, he had the car all its life, and just drove it around town I think, no motorways. could this wear out 2nd and 3rd?

what oil would you put in it?

Thanks for suggestions
