Hi,
my first post, but I've been lurking for a few weeks...

I have a automatic 1990 sentra (b12, ga16i) and I have a few questions about the tranny. I just discovered autoshifting (is that the correct term for manually shifting an automatic?) and it makes it seem like I am driving a totally different car.
Is it ok to do this for daily driving? My car usually has no pull in the 40-60mph range but if I keep it in 2nd until around 55-60 (about 5000rpms) it is not bad at all. And for city driving, I see no reason to let the car shift to 3rd ever. Is it safe for the tranny to leave it in 2nd in the city?
Also, is it ok to (ocassionaly) rev the engine and then drop it into first?

Thanks,
drubin

Nutra; drops (reving than dropping into first) are bad for your tranny.. My friend in that in his daewoo and after 30,000 needed a new Tranny..

I think its ok to shift an auto.. I mean its there for a reason.. The reason most people dont becuase its easy to shift into reverse and drop your tranny.. At least i think...
