Hi all,
I have a 97 Pathfinder, and the little light bulb in my ashtray has stopped working. Does anyone know how to replace it??

I opened up the center console, and got to the bulb. But it's not exactly just a bulb ... it's some kind of small gizmo with the bulb (permanently?) attached. Can this gizmo be replaced? What do I even ask for at the auto parts store?

ye it can if you ask a parts store they will tell you what it is it might be the same bulb as behind the climate control panel

Ah! well I solved it, in case anyone reads this and has the same issue... The bulb is actually a bulb and socket that I ordered from courtesyparts.com. part is #24860N SOCKET & BULB. Very easy to replace.

Just take out the ashtray. Remove the one screw underneath, and lift up the center console. Then you can see the bulb and replace it ... took 30 seconds.

thanks mine got busted long ago and i have somehow forgot to fix it - now i came across your post thank you so much for sharing now i know what to do.
