Hi, I have owned my Nissan 2001 Xterra for almost a year now, and I went and bumped into a pole
I've dented in my driver's side front fender...my question is, I'm a do-it-myselfer and I would like to buy the fender online and take off the dented fender, replacing it with the new fender...however I will take it in to be painted professionally.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Is this a fairly easy process?? Any advice, warnings, etc. would be greatly appreciated...
Thx,
Bad driver :p ;)

I replaced a fender once on my 84 Mazda PU truck. If you buy a non-OEM fender you will have to work and work with the fender to get it to look right and get the gaps even.

If you are going to have a body shop paint it, I would check into them putting the new one on for you. Probably not more than 1 hr worth of work. Most of the labor costs come in the prepping of the fender for painting. You might even want to ask if you can buy the part and have them put it on.
