I have a 1.6 in my 200sx. The odometer reads 191,XXX miles and I have a little bit of doubt that its the original engine.

It has the metal valve cover(last owner did absolutely nothing to mod the car so i dont think he would have switched the valva cover.) It runs sooooooooo good. i know these cars can run past what mine has, but it just purrs so nice:D Also, It's too dang clean! Take a look at my cardomain in my sig. Its at clean as a whistle

Anyway. do you guys know of a way to tell if its the original engine? Just curious.

if the engine was taken care of it wont show its age at all. a good owner keeps up with all maintnence to keep it purring, AND washes it frequently to keep it glowing.

If you KNOW the vc was not switched then it is not the original engine. The aluminum valve cover came on the B13s GA16 and alot of B14 GA owners swap them in.

By the way, love the diamond plate heat shieled. Nice touch.

Just remembered, I believe the 91-94 GA had an intake manifold that said ESSC or something like that cast right into the top of it. If it doesn't have that, and I doubt many people swap for that mani, then it would not be a B13 GA swap. But as said before there should be a way to check against a stamp in the block. I have no idea where it is.

I don't know is the GA would have it in the same place, but my SR20 has an ID number stamped right by the header on the driver's side of the block. I think somebody further up already mentioned it, I'm just collaborating it :) I remember it clearly because i just installed a new header 5 days ago and I saw the number. It said SR20DE number
