2 wheel drive, Manual trans
I found my battery dead today. I didn't see where I left anything on, so oh well. I charged it, put it back in and I can hear this faint hissing sound and I swear I can smell plastic burning(burning pvc wires or a protective cap). Sure enough there is smoke coming from my alternator. I checked it to the meter while the engine was running, and the alternator is not charging. I did find a little coolant on the alternator.......
Possible the water/coolant mixture conducted the electricity and shorted/killed my alternator?
Anyway, after the day I've had I yanked the battery out and said the hell with it for the day. I'll drive my other car for a few days.
