I dont want to be an A-hole, but thats what we have a search function for. Also check out Sentra.net in Kojima's garage in the engine section for good info.

im curious. could i advance my timing to 13 and use medium grade gas or would that just be dumb? what is the power increase difference between advancing it to 15 or to 13? is this a logical question?

kojimas garage would be the best on www.sentra.net for advanced timing and searching will be helpful.. but most advancing your timing frees up some hp but you have to run at least 91 octane.. preferablly 93 if available.. no you cant advaced to 13 degrees and run 89.. it would be pointless and just producing more emmisions problem and throw a knock sensor code..

Wow, this is my first entry at nissan forums, here's something I was wondering. When advancing the timing on an 97' sentra (ga16de of course hehehe). It is said that you can go up to 15 degrees. So I wondered around the internet trying to find any way that I could help the car support the advance and maybe get more HP out of the deal. I bought the NGK plugs and wires (good idea one way or the other), and I was wondering if there were any aftermarket distributors out there. I couldn't find any, even using the vendor links from sentra.net, so should I even bother looking for one? Nissan seems to do a great job with certain parts overlooked by other comanies, and a horrible job on others.. (i.e. exaust manifold :p)

well you're advancing timing, not increasing the spark voltage and current flow, so you wouldn't really need any ignition upgrades unless you go forced induction, even oem ignition stuff is highly recommended.
