Remember, if you upgrade with bolt-ons you can always sell them when you go turbo if you take care of them. I'm willing to guarantee that there's someone out there who will want it but hasn't bought it yet because the retail price is too expensive for them (I'm one of them). Keep your stock parts and when you're ready to go turbo take it all off and put your stock parts back on and sell the bolt-ons while you buy your turbo parts.

I think manuals, although equal HP, can be better, becuase of the way it is driven, and you can take the RPMS higher than auto's.
i think its more of a powerband thing. not to mention the manual gets another gear to play with. what i mean is if you have an auto, try driving in 1st or 2nd on the gearshift. press on the gas then let off. then hit the gas again. now imagine this feeling every time you shift, because of the slow down time between shifts, and being able to stay in gear and do that, without having to downshift.

our autos, even in od off shift smoother, so less neck yanking when accelerating, and still have to downshift at higher speeds.

Never miss a shift with an auto either. Good for dragging especially if you upgraded your tranny internals with Level 10 products. Slam the petal to the floor and just let it ride through the trap. Let the ECU do the rest.

I use 2 hands and 2 feet, and I have an auto:D (2 hands on the wheel, and left foot braking)
lol, i do that too, but my family yells at me every time they catch me doing it. someing about if you did that in a driver's test they would fail you. hell i don't care, to me it makes sense to use the other foot for a brake, that way you can't pull an old lady and mash the gas when you ment to hit the brake. your other leg will reflexivly hit the brake.

I say, dont give up. so what if its 97 hp at the wheels. Without seeing or hearing your car i can tell you that it responds better to your foot mashing the pedal than it did before stock. There is just so much more you can do to your car to make it go faster. Dont limit your mind to just bolt ons. HOw about porting and polishing your GA. That should free up some horsepower. Extrude Honing is good too. Remember that our GA's respond well to head work and some other internal mods better than the D series Honda motors.

I drive a manual and I must say that I love it way better than automatic. IMO, automatics suck. Sure you can mash the pedal down a race track and it'll shift always but that takes the fun out of racing. ONe thing about auto's is this: They are predictable. They always shift before you can get optimal power, now on the other hand with a manual, if you are good you will always shift at the right time, only that you should figure out the best time to shift.

my bad, couldn't tell who you were asking:eek: If doing a drag launch, I'll hold the brake while pressing the gas for a second or two, and while autocrossing I'll tap the brake while on the gas to get rotation, but as far as I can tell it isn't straining the brakes any more than doing regular braking. I have heard that the brakes wear faster if you ride the brake pedal when you don't plan on braking. I try not to do that though, I'm either using the brake or that foot's resting on the floor, never resting on the pedal.

first, its illegal to use two feet while driving unless you drive a manual car. and i know you are going to ask, well.....how is anyone going to know. well yes you are right how will anyone know, but its still illegal. secondly, statistics show that when put into a dangerous situation in a car (i.e. stopping short) your first impression is to use both your feet to press the brakes. now the reason why they dont want you to drive with both feet is to illiminate the chance of accidently pressing the gas when braking in an emergency. if you are trained to use one foot, your right foot will go exactly to where the brake is, that is what you have trained yourself to do. your left foot will slide to meet the right. but if you trained yourself to use both feet, its more difficult to make your right foot go to the brake, b/c its trained to press on the gas. hope this isnt too long winded, but bottom line.....you trained yourself to drive an automatic with both feet. its a learned habbit, it can be unlearned. train yourself to drive the right way (no offense)

Sure...but did you ever notice the time it took to catch up to you and Tak some of the times. The pulley does free up some acceleration, some times I dont bother turning off the A/C to pass, cuz its not much of a difference.

I am still playing with the idea of bolt-ons vs. turbo. Bolt ons seems like a better option....but I'd love the turbo power. It will all work itself out. I just wanted to put it up so all the bolt-on people know what to expect.

Yeah i trained my foot to do that. My left foot is always over my clutch. If i drive an automatic, the foot is on the foot rest while the right foot is doing all the work. I cant really see how someone can drive with two feet on an automatic anyways. seems hard to me.

As for me, never!:D Read up on driving a front wheel drive car at a road course and you'll see left foot braking is also encouraged in manual tranny cars. Yeah, I'm not racing on the street, but I have enough sense to know what my feet are doing. C'mon, it isn't that complicated.

People discourage it and it's illegal because stupid people like to ride the brake when they drive with two feet and melt their brakes and have wrecks because they slam on the gas and any other thing you can imagine stupid people doing. As for the rest of us who can drive, it's acceptable and even encouraged for certain types of racing, as long as you're not a moron and don't ride the brake petal. One footed driving was used as a deterrant to keep idiots from riding the brake petal: i.e. it's hard to press on both pedals with one foot unless you're Shaq O'Neal with a size 100 shoe. (then there's heel-and-toe driving for autocross, but if you're a moron who's dumb enough to ride your brakes you shouldn't be allowed on an auto-x track to begin with)
