I have a 97 Sentra GXE, and i have narrowed down the problem to my Compressor (A/C Clutch Disk or pulley)

I am getting a squeel(sp??) on initial start-up or when i turn my AC on.


do i just need to tighted the belts? or is there possibly something wrong with the compressor (pulley or clutch disk) itself?

I have not had this problem with my Nissans but with other cars and yes it was a belt slippage causing the squealing. If your belts are old or glazed or both you may need a new belt. If you over tighten the belt you will cause bearings to go out so be careful.
