My CEL came on in my '97 Pathy and I have a pretty noticable miss. Only happens when it warms up. Don't have access to my scanner at the moment, and I don't want to drive it whith a miss like this in order to take it to AuotZone or something for a scan, so I was wondering if I can get the CEL to blink the codes.

Is there a way to make the Check Engine light blink the trouble codes by using a certain sequence with the key....like an on and off sequence 3 times or something?

Thanks.

One of the sticky messages at the top of this forum links to this page:

Ecu Self-diagnostics For 87-95 Pathfinder - Nissan Pathfinder Off-Road Association

You'll have to read through the thread to understand the context, but a reply in there says:

The 96-2000 year Pathfinders have a diagnostic mode selector screw on the ECU. The ECU is located directly above the gas pedal tucked up behind the dash, with the mode selector screw on the top. The steps for the 4-cylinder at the top of the thread are the exact steps for the 96-2000 pathfinders once you find and access that screw.
