To remove the crankshaft pulley which direction does the bolt come off. is it left-loose, right tight or is it reverse treaded. I have the front crankshaft seal leaking and before hitting it with a impact gun just wanted to know which way to go.
Lefty-loosey does the trick. After you remove the bolt, you'll need a puller or some other means to remove the pulley itself as they are usually on quite tight.
If you're using an impact i'd think you'd want to set it on "Reverse"
But yeah, counter clockwise is always loose, unless it's reverse threaded which the crank bolt isnt. If your impact isnt working, try turning the PSI up, or getting a better gun.
