92 Pathfinder V6 engine. The EGR valve was changed. Around this time, the pathfinder was taken for inspection, it just barely passes on a good day. To get it to pass, the pass took off a pipe and cleaned it. I wasn't there then. All I know the pipe was not that long, just an inch or two or so. It was filled with carbon (just black hard suff lol).

The engine oil does seem to get dirty relly fast (it was also neglected for awhile so it is kind of a catc up game also) but I think it does have to do wih the emissions.

The air filter looks clean, it doesnt leak oil, it does seem to have lost some power, but still enough to carry some heavy loads around without much of a problem (just 4th anfd 5th gear up hill).

Does anyone have any idea what the problem may be? Need more info?

Its a 92 Pathfinder XE, 5speed, 4x4, V6, with a little over 200k miles.

BUMP, does anyone have any ideas at all please? I think it has to do with the EGR system but not sure, any ideas the cause of excess ccarbon build up, where it would start, etc.
