Hi,

I have a 91 pulsar with the GA16DE engine.

It starts and runs fine at low throttle settings but has no power when you put your foot down or go up hills. No stumbling, missing, overheating or other signs - just low on power.

I have checked the MAF sensor and get a reading of 1.123V at idle when warm. Is this too high (I understand the range should be 0.7 to 1.1)?

Any other ideas please?

I was told that this could be caused by an exhaust obstruction. The engine revs freely in neutral but does this mean that the exhaust is OK?

Is there a way to ckeck the ECU codes myself? If so, how do I do this.

Any help would be much appreciated.

In case this can help someone else, it turned out to be the catalytic converter.
