Hi I'm new to this forum and new to Nissans. I have an 85 300 zx (non turbo) that needs the head gaskets replaced. I've done this on other cars before and am wondering how difficult this will be. Are their any major hurtles or do I need any specialty tools? So far I have just ordered a Haynes manual and thats where I'm at. Thanks, any help will be appreciated.

Get the FSM from carfishe.com. It'll help. The only specialty tools are small hands, and if you have an automatic, you will need to fab a tool or buy a tool to hold the crankshaft still while you remove the main pully bolt.

Welcome to the Z-world.

BTW-- replace the timing belt and water pump while you are at it. Costs under 50 for both and well worth the extra time.
