5-speed transmission oil for pathfinder

A few weeks ago I got a 93 pathfinder with 130k miles on it. One thing that I have noticed is that when it is cold it is virtually impossible to shift from 1st to 2nd and I often find myself putting it in 3rd gear and lugging it until it warms up. Anyone recommend some good transmission oils? Thanks

Hi, I don't know much about the oils for this but I would also check the hydraulic part of the clutch.

Mostly, does it leak? If not, you may want to try bleeding the cylinder to make sure there is no air in them. You may want to just do a complete fluid change on that. Also how is the play on the clutch. Either of these can affect this problem.

On the 92 I drive, the clutch slave cylinder was leaking, got that replaced and then the master cylinder went. I just figure they were probably both original, and fairly old, lots of us and the slave went first and then when it got fixed, the added pressure finished off the master.

I'm not saying this is your problem, just something to check into.
