something is wrong with my 3rd gear it grinds when i put it in and when its time to go to 4th its a bitch to take it out of there but the rest of my gears are fine. what could it be??

sounds more like a clutch engagement/disengagement problem than a gear problem to me.

make sure you put the clutch to the floor...

i do , its not that because i do put the clutch to the floor and it still does that. i do know how to change gears.

I was having this same problem w/my 2000 GXE. Same gear and everything. I still had not figured out what was wrong with it when i totalled it. Sorry I cant actually help you figure out whats wrong w/your car, just thought I'd let you know that you arent the only one thats had this problem.
