I have an 04 Pathfinder with 215 K miles. About 2,000 miles ago it stopped engaging 2nd and 4th gears. Don't think its the whole transmission. Rather the valve body and solenoids. But could it be the torque converter clutch solenoid? Finally got busy and found something that looks like that on the outside of the torque converter housing but can't find the part. Have been driving it around town in 1st and 3rd. Shifts into 3rd at 3,000 rpm.
Ideas? Thanks in advance.

Inside the AT, there's a bank of four solenoids. The two inner one's are, what's called "shift solenoid valve A" and "shift solenoid valve B". One of them might be sticking or defective that may be causing your shifting problem. You'll need to have a pdf copy of the FSM for your vehicle to properly diagnose the solenoids. You can download a copy of the FSM from this web site: Owner's Manuals. The section AT.PDF is the one you need to read.
