I've done something similar to a 2012 Honda Civic. You'll have to do some research in the Nissan parts catalogs and look up matching body part numbers for the generation A36 Maxima which covers 2015 to the present. The main concern is the hood and front L/R fenders; if these items use the same part numbers for the year ranges, it might be something as simple as just replacing the front shell only. The shell is very easy to remove; about a dozen or so plastic fasteners and undoing the fastening clips between the shell and L/R fenders; there may be some electrical connectors to disconnect.
It may be a good idea to put your car next to a 2020 model and examine any differences in body fitment.
