Hey all,

1st time Nissan owner. I only have 1 key fob from the previous owner and the buttons don't work but works fine to start the car. Button on the handle doesn't work either. Anything I can do?

Sounds like a dead battery in the fob, have you replaced it? It's a standard 2025 lithium coin.

Yep, still nothing. I imagine it took a beating from the previous owner.

Make sure the rubber actuator pad is lined up correctly, and also try bending the "finger" contacts on the circuit board (PCB) outward a bit, they may not be making good contact with the battery. If none of that helps, try dunking the PCB in clean water for 5 minutes and then isopropyl alcohol for 5 minutes. Somebody may have drowned it or spilled something on it and compromised the PCB. If none of that helps then you're into a new fob.
