Does anyone know if I can use Lucas heavy duty 80w-90 gear oil on my front differential? It's a 4.0 4x4.

Please help

The FSM for your vehicle states that the front differential recommended oil is:
Genuine NISSAN Differential Oil Hypoid Super GL-5 80W-90 or API GL-5 Viscosity SAE 80W-90.

The Lucas product should be OK for your vehicle. Here's the spec sheet:

Thank you. The sales rep at AutoZone told me that it had to be fully synthetic and told me to use the Lucas oil. But when I got home and did the job I looked it up and it said it's not synthetic.

Thank you for the reassurance.

The rear is synthetic spec but the front is not, however, you can certainly use synthetic in the front if you wish. I have a 2006 and 2009 Pathfinder and I use Mobil One 75W90 synthetic gear oil in both. They have 470,000 combined miles between the two and the diffs are doing fine! It keeps me from having to stock two different types of gear oil. You're also supposed to replace the crush washers on the diff plugs, Nissan 11026-4N200.
