Replaced fuel pump after it shut off hitting a wash board i replaced it along with the fuel pump relay and it worked fine then i hit a another wash board even worse and it shut off again. Now i test the pump and it still has power but it will not start. What may be my problem

Check for corrosion at the fuel pump connector, particularly the ground wire. When pumps go bad they often draw excess current, which can burn the pin for the ground connection. If you find five shiny pins and one black one, that'll be your culprit.

Fuel pump itself might be faulty since you have to replace its relay.

The fuel sending units on these and the Frontiers had issues with corrosion building-up and causing resistance or an open in the fuel pump circuit. Check for any open recalls or campaigns for your Xterra as there was a recall for this issue. If it's open, take it to your Nissan dealer of choice and they will fix it for free. I had mine done on my 2003 Frontier about four years ago.
