I just got a free set of nice tires..265 70 17..If I get a 17 inch rim will they fit the wheel well?

Most likely, they will fit, the wheel wells are plenty large. The new tire size will be larger in diameter and your speedometer will be off by 8.8%. Your gas mileage may decrease.

You have the Pathy SE or Chilkoot, I assume?

The 01-04 Pathy LE has 17" stock wheels. The SE should fit those just fine.

I've got 255/70/16 on my SE which is a size larger than stock and I belive going to 75 or 265 was going to rub strut without lift.

I think that size on a 17" will rub.

If you can get a installer to do a test fit, thats your best bet.
