Well this was the case with my 98SE. I had the Bose Casette/CD and the sound was not that loud. I replaced the stereo with a Sony and it gave pretty decent sound. Which OM model stereo do you have?
Well I'm not suggesting you change the stereo, I'm just pointing out that often OM ones do not produce full sound with the pre-instaled speakers and amp.
First thing to do is to check that all front/rear speakers and tweeters are working.
