I understand that the 1998 Maxima has a timing chain? Do you need to service this, ie replace? I understand that if it was a timing belt that it would be manditory to do service, correct? Thank you, in advance!

well what i do is change the timing chain at every 300k together with the idler and tensioner and also the water pump.as it is located there as well.although it look fine.precaution.

timing chains RARELY break.. and once they do.. that's it for your maxima..
