I am trying to remove my 96 altima gxe's starer and am having no luck. I was able to get the rearmost bolt out, but cant even get my hand on the bolt in the front (the one closest to the front of the car) I was outside for about an hour trying to figure it out, and am honestly clueless. Could anyone give me a little hint as to what is the best way to go about getting that second bolt out? I've already unhooked the battery cable, and solenoid power. Thanks

Can you see the bolt at least? Or are you having trouble just removing it? Its kinda hard to see down there...its under the throttle body area though. It is a long bolt so you have to keep loosening it a while. I believe I used a 6 or 8 inch extension and 14mm socket to remove mine. I had my intake, battery, and throttle body removed though when I did mine. Maybe that would make it easier....I know that is a lot to remove though.

I cant even see the bolt, thats the problem. Removing my intake and throttle body would be a big job just to remove the starter. Ill try removing the air filter box and hoses to see if i can get down in there. But im kind of at my wits end with it.
