so i just bought the thing yesterday and i went to pump gas for the ride home on it and after i had pumped the gas it refused to even crank but lights worked fine so we had to push start it and it ran fine for the way home, I even turned off the car a few times on the way home to see if it would happen again but it started normally those times. well today morning again its refusing to crank/start
when i turn the key to start the lights in the dash just go dark and nothing happens.
the old owner said it could be a security system problem but he didnt really know either

First inspect the battery post connectors to make sure they are tight and check for any oxidation; inspect the negative (-) cable connector at the ground connection side in the same manner. If that's OK, then the battery may be bad; get it load tested at an auto parts store. It's also possible that the starter has internal shorts that are pulling down the voltage.
