I'm looking at a 14 Pro4X with 113k at a local lot that has a few possible issues. The first one is the A/C. It came on and worked well but when I turned the truck off and back on it did not blow cold until I turned of the A/C button off and back on. It did this a few times but then did not happen again. I'm not sure if this is a possible climate control issue.
The second issue is the rear axle. The paint on the diff cover is pealing as if it got very hot. I will try and add a pic.
Anything you can add to this would be appreciated. Thanks.

If it was me,, I'd take it to Nissan and get the 14 point Free inspection as well as pointing out what you know and asking them to check those issue's out as well.

I don't know what your needs are,, but unless you are getting an extremely good deal. I would have a hard sit down talk and rationalize if I really needed 4X4 and the other extra suspension add on's that the Pro4x has.

Then go to Truecar.com and check out what a Brand New SVV6 built like you want it would be. Then when the price show's up on their Graph's, look to the far left and see what the lowest price was paid for that Truck. That is the Out the Door Price that they Paid for that Truck. If they got it for that Price,, then so can you. Maybe not at your Nearest Dealership,, but makeing some phone call's and being persistant,, being preapproved by your Bank, & Being Ready with the check when you find the Willing Dealer .

You may very well pay about the same, or maybe even less and get a Brand New V6 Frontier with a New Truck Warranty. If you allready have a Nissan,, Calling Nissan Consumer Affair's will get you a Nissan Loyalty VPP New Truck Discount,, which can be substantial. It was in my case.

Nothing wrong with buying used and saveing a ton of money,, but buying used with allready known problem's isn't much fun, unless it's an absolute Steal of a Buy.

If you still want to purchase that Pro4x,, then get them to fix all the issue's found,, before you pay them any money.

Me, I just like to buy New, Take Very Good Care of it,, Keep it as long as possible, 20 year's, get the VPP, Buy New,, and Sell the Old one.

Advice as a Friend, take it for what it's worth. It's worked very well for me though.

Thanks for your response.
It's at a dealership so I'm not sure if I can take it to a Nissan dealer but it is something that I can suggest.
As for the deal that has yet to be determined, still looking at this point. As to whether I need a Pro4X I currently have a 05 Pathfinder Off road and like the extras that come with that package. I do not want a new vehicle and haven’t bought one since 1989.
