MY buddy Has the 06 Spec V with 51k on it.
At least twice a week it takes extended cranking time before it fires up.

Other than that car runs great ,and has never had any problems.
He is the original owner.

I know some QR,s had issues with Cam ,and Crank sensors.
Does anyone know if the 06 was one of the model years with these issues?
Thanks!

Does ur buddy prime the fuel pump prior to starting? If not then try that first off. There's a TSB associated with extended crank time. Not sure if it effects 06s or not. Couldn't hurt to try priming first.

It's the crank sensor that has had issues. 06s are effected as well. Other symptoms would include momentary rpm dropoff while driving. Also, tripping a SES light corresponding to the crank position sensor. The premature failure of the sensor is a recall. But if ur buddy doesn't like taking his car to a dealer, then here is a how-to on replacing the sensor with the revised/upgraded version. . . http://myspecv.com/f/t29064-how-to-replace-crankshaft-position-sensor.html

i've also got an '06 SpecV that doesn't like to start. i took it to the dealership and they told me that the fuel pumps like to go out in these cars. i'm still under warranty so i got mine replaced from the dealership, fixed the problem. might be the same reason for you tho
