My oil pressure gauge started registering MAX as in completely horizontal the other day, regardless of RPM. It even registers MAX with the engine off, but the ignition turned on. My local Nissan dealer parts department could not really tell me very well over the phone where the pressure sending unit (>$90!!!!) is located so I can perform a disconnect test to determine if the gauge or the oil pressure sensing/sending unit is bad. Anyone know where on the driver's side of the engine I can find this. The engine runs fine and is not overheating. I am certain this is a sensing or electrical issue. Thanks!

Remove the undercover, I think it is on the upper oil pan on the passenger side. Standing in front of the vehicle, the sensor would be behind and to the left of the oil filter.

Before you tear it out, wiggle the wires; sounds like it could be a loose ground wire.
