ive been looking around this forum for a while before posting this but i cant find exactly what i need.
i purchased the 03 spec v from some guy. the same month his warranty ended and the car was great.
im going through a quart of oil every 100 miles or so and i know there is something extremely wrong with that.
im getting a header soon but i wanted to know what the best thing to do is.
any help is appreciated.

You pre-cat went and got sucked into the engine. A quart every 100 miles most certainly means an engine replacement.

I would most certainly get a header.
XS Power Full Race and Basic Header & OBX 4-2-1 Header pkg o2 spacers - MSV
PLENTY of good reviews, good price, good quality
thanks for the link and help.and when i get a chance to order one of those headers how would i go about doing it? I don't really understand the group buy thing. and just another question, should I get the basic or the OBX 4-2-1 header? Which design would be more suitable for a dd? Sorry about all the questions its just that i only have this car and need it to last for a long time.
and as for the engine i would just have to shop around and hope for one to pop up wouldn't I?

The 4-2-1 header design is more suited for street use. It will give you better low speed torque then the race 4-1 header which is more suited for high rpm use.

The guy I'm dealing with said that he was told by some Nissan big wigs that if the car had less than 80k on it then the cat and all associated damages (engine, exhaust, etc.) would be covered regardless of the status of the warranty. That sucks considering how many folks go through this. It's not like you can predict it or legally prevent it. Hell, it's not even part of any mileage-based servicing. See what you can do for yourself. 800-NISSAN1 (800-647-7261)

That's only if you wouldn't mind trying to start from scratch with a new engine at least. I know that's my goal.
and once you have broken in the engine ( you can't use synthetic oil to break-in an engine ) use a synthetic engine oil

I do , I used 0W-30 Mobil , but it has been discontinued here in Canada

so I'll be using 0W-40 now

you just can't beat synthetic oils

correction here

I asked someone I know in Exon

while the Mobil 0W-30 has been discontinued

he recommended that I use Esso XD3 0W-30 , rather using 0W-40 Mobil because he says that , using Mobil 0W-40 will increase the temp. of my engine. especially in the summer

high RPM are not a problem with this oil , and as well it will clean out your engine better , because it has diesel additives

I also told him that the Spec-V 2.5 litre engine , 180hp , or a high performance engine

no problem
