Fob weak after new battery 2009 Altima

Even after I replaced the battery, one of the fobs (aka "intelligent key") only lets the car start when inserted into the intelligent key port.

I have cleaned and bent up (slightly) the various battery contacts in the fob.

The other fob works OK.

(1) Is it possible that reprogramming will revive the fob? Or does the fact that it works in the port mean its programming is OK?

(2) Any suggestions for improving the signal strength, or a diagnosis?

This happened suddenly, without any prior symptoms of weakness. The car was in for an oil change at my local mechanic's garage.

Check if the connections on your car battery are corroded that seems to be a common issue.
