Hi snowcrash the suspension and brakes all around the car are standard nissan items which in reality are well upto the job at hand. The only thing i had to mod was the steering rack location and the tension rods now tie into the chasis near the bulkhead and not at the front of the car. The bump steer and castor angles were checked and found to be in spec with what nissan recomend. It was a very easy conversion really

Yeah sure. It’s easy. I tell you man. I am f..ing impressed. Not only you went in to trouble of sticking this motor in to a ZX but seams like the Chevy itself is a well worked on too. Jesus Krist! You deserve a Noble Prize for this one.
What’s the engine management on this car?

Still a bit to go and the engine is only 'warmed over' compared to yours but upto now not too bad a job! thought you might like to see some pics............

Sooo many question to ask but being a 'newbie' I don't want to push my luck LOL!

Gav's away working at the mo, so it may be a while before he logs back in. Im sure he'll be happy to answer any questions youve got. Youve certainly got a fair way already.

Gav's is an auto. He has told be loads of times exactly what auto box it is but I cant for the life of me remeber.

Hi it looks like you are almost there with the conversion (Nice job). I went for the TH400 autobox with a transbrake and a manual valve boby, in reality this is just like a manual without a cultch to cause problems, it works great the only problem i have with it is the final drive ratio is 1:1 ie just like fourth gear on the Z32 set-up. I am in the middle of changing the rear end gears to over come the top speed problem. Im away at work for a while but i can get online now and again if i can help just let me know

Cheers mate!-I looked into the auto's but wanted an 'overdrive' top so plumped for the Supra 5-speed although first will probably be a waste of space! LOL!
I'll update the build when I make some more progress!

Great sadness

Dear Nissan Forum
It is with great and terrible sadness that am writing to inform you of Gavin's (gavinbalmer) sad and untimely death.
A few days ago I was given the news and whilst I barely knew Gavin I think I can speak for all who met him in saying that he will be deeply, deeply missed.

For anyone reading this, please spare a kind thought for the family and friends he leaves behind.

On this forum he was best known for the remarkable and pioneering work both he and Mickyg undertook in transplanting the V8 into a Z32 and made it the fastest road going Z32 in the UK.

I would kindly ask the administrators of this forum to lock this thread and preserve it as a tribute to him.

Respectfully yours

Steve Kiddell
