Question 1990 300ZX Engine Died..HELP

I just purchased a used 1990 300ZX. While my son was driving it the negative battery cable broke. They re-attached it. It went for another 1/2 mile and completely died. Tried new cables and battery and it still seems to be not getting fire OR something. Just not sure. Any ideas would help. thank you

It's called Power Surge. If they hooked the cable back up with the car running, it probably started burnout creepage on the ECU due to voltage spikes while the cable was off and a massive surge when the cable was reattached. Try a new ECU.
