Oil Pressure levels on a 96 Non turbo
I've never owned or driven a 300z before this one. I purchased it back in july of this year so i have just a little experience w/ driving it.
The car has 55k miles on it.
Has not had any repair history other than the authorized nissan checkups.
Does not have any leaks or noises whatsoever. Exhaust is clean and passes inspection. Theres a little information about my z.
My question is regarding what the Oil PSI guage should read after warm up.
I notice there are 5 hash marks in the guage. One is at 0, the second is offset between 0 and 60, the third is 60, the fourth is offset between 60 and 120 and the 5th one is 120.
After warming up, mine at idle usually reads halfway between 0 and the first hashmark. And at 2krpm it sits on the 2nd hashmark and steadily goes up to just before 60psi as my rpms climb. According to the book these are the normal levels.
Now, what i've noticed lately is that if i drive the car slow, like, no hurry and shift gears when rpms are between 2k and 2.5k, the oil pressure seems like it goes into a different mode or something. During this type of driving, the guage reads almost 0 at idle and doesnt go past that 2nd hashmark until over 3.5krpm. This seems like a really low oil pressure readings.
Does the car adapt to the style of driving and change oil pressure to match
