my intake......

hey heres a quick question........when i bought my car it came with a k&n air system that was bought from stillen....it was the only mod that came with the car so tonight i decided to take the nose panel off and look it over.....i took the panel off and cleaned the piping but the filter itself, what would be the best way to clean that?i know some cheesy filters u can send thru the wash but this has a metal top and the intake is rather large so to put that in the washer would be a bad idea......any help on the best way to clean it is?

There are 2 styles of air systems. One is a OEM replacement style and the other is a cone style? Stillen sells the K&N cleaning kit for the cone style.
