What is your opinion on the value of a 2900 mile 1990 300ZX TT?

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum and have been spending some time reading a lot of the information posted here. Very nice forum. I have spent the last two years talking to a gentleman who owns a 1990 Red, black leather, loaded 300ZX TT that he bought new that has 2867 original miles on it. The car is absolutely brand new and perfectly maintained. I am interested in your opinions of what the car may be worth. He has finally agreed to meet to discuss selling the car to me. I spend quite a lot of time seeking out ultra low mileage cars and know that KBB and other publications tend to be way off on the values of these types of cars and although I am willing to pay a significant premium to get this I do not want to be crazy about it. Your opinions are greatly appreciated. www.geocities.com/mwrauto/

The amount you are willing to pay for a Z is really the only one that counts. If you think it's worth 10K or up to 50K it's in the eye of the beholder (you).

Also you can use Edmunds.com to find a value of a Z if you don't believe the blah, blah that I said above.

2900 miles on a 1990 car , so that means it sat a lot. Going from sitting for most of 14 years to constant useage is very hard on seals and fittings. Expect it to spring a few leaks in the next 6 months.

Thank you for your replies so far. I do not intend on using the car as a daily driver or put many miles on it as I have several other low mileage cars that I will also drive. These types of low mileage cars are few and far between if not almost impossible to find. The car has been driven regularly however sparingly and well maintained. I have several cars with similar mileage and they have never required any special attention from a maintenace stand point other than regular maintenace and they never leak or break. I am really trying to determine what a fair price for the car would be. Edmunds suggests $7000 with the low mileage but I know that is way too low. What do you think the upper limit of the value should be?

I'd pay $25,000 for it if it is truly in great stored condition with no body damage. If it was in a wreck or anything like that, the value drops quite a bit for the collector.

I am only interested in the most pristine ultra low mileage cars of any given type that I am looking for. This is every bit as nice a car as you will probably ever see as a non modified original TT. I am very excited about having the chance to own it. I hope we can work out the deal.

If not, please send me the information as I would like a crack at it if you don't buy it.
