digital climate control

it looks like my digital climate control is starting to go out. i was wondering if there are common easy and simple fix-it problems that there are so i wouldn't have to buy a new one. it started this morning and the display blacked out. no lights or beeps came from the control when i pressed any of the buttons. the wipers and hazards still worked and the A/C and heat still worked since there was cool air coming from the vents. i just couldn't change the temp or turn it off.

also how do i remove the control? i looked around it and didn't see any screws that held it down or is it just something that pops off with a little leverage? thanks for any input.

You probably did this already but check the fuses to see if you just blew one. Sometimes I think something really bad happened and then it turns out to be a busted fuse.

there's also a self-diagnostic mode for the auto climate control that tests all of it's systems and reports errors to you. the FSM has a walk-thru of it. might help you isolate problems.

The control has a screw on the bottom of the pod. You unscrew that, and the face of the pod should lift out (I think it has some clip connectors that you may have to push in, too, but there should be only one screw to take the face off), then there's more screws inside.
