Just bought this car and I am trying to figure some things out. When I open a door or raise the car off the ground to change the oil the yellow security light constantly flashes on the dash even though the alarm is not activated. Is there a way to disable this light from flashing. I am doing some work on the car and keep the doors open for extended periods. The light is annoying and I am afraid it will put a drain on the battery.

Your battery won't drain from just that one little flashing light. Your dome light would place a vastly larger drain than that blinking light.
But if you really wanna, you could disconnect the whole stock security system itself. There's always the option of disassembling the whole entire dash and take out the one little light bulb that seems to be annoying you.
