Hello, new in z-town....

Hello, to all.

My background:

I have three Z's: 90 NA w/160,000mi, 91 TT w/147,000mi, & 91 TT w/8,600mi (yes, 8,600mi). I usually say jokingly - One for each hand.

Lately, my free time has been spent designing a realtime data reader/logger for use with the 'consult' port. This has been a fun project but it has been serious work. It has been moving ahead nicely. There are other devices out there but this is a good challenge. If all goes well, the next project will be tapping directly into the eprom socket with a computer to adjust the maps in realtime.

I have been retuning my maps and have gained much knowledge as well as HP. I hope to give aide to posted questions where I can, though, I don't spend much time in forums.

Soon, I will be pulling out the engine of the NA to rebuild/replace it. It doesn't seem too difficult of a job but, first, I need to get an engine stand. Some projects that I have completed: removed/rebuilt/replaced both turbo (without removing the engine or trans.), replaced clutch & flywheel (with removing the trans, Haa), replaced PCV's, radiator, hoses, water pump, timing belt, alternator, & oil, have installed BOV's, exhaust system, steering control/tension rods, and finally, rebuilt the bose speakers amps - and I still have all of my fingers.

Because I need to trust my car at high speeds, top 172mph, I do all of my own work.

I just wanted to say "Hi," and relay some credits. I usually do not hang in forums, so no need to reply. Hope to help, though, when here and when I can.

BTW: Do not attempt 160mph+ without first increasing down-force. I did read a post about 'larger spoilers or not', and this is what got me to register here.

braff.

well welcome to the Z board!!!

I must say that is a pretty intense project to be able to develop the software and interpret the codes -- i must give you major props (always wanted to do that but never had the time)

Another website you HAVE to check out (perhaps your already on it) is www.twinturbo.net --- look for a memeber called ASHz-Fab -- he has actually programmed his own performance chip for both the NOn-turbo as well as the Twinturbo.

There is also a rumor floating around that he is in the process of creating a interface between the user and the ecu. (in other words a HONDATA for nissans)
anyways the guy has some major skills, as well as complete access to many Z parts dynos, etc... (he works for a Z wrecking yard, perfomance shop called Z1 Motorsports --great guys by the way have bought many things from them)

Thats pretty impressive to own three Z's are you the orginal owner on all three?? How the hell did you only drive your other 91 8,600miles

I drove the hell out of the 300zx i took it everywhere and as a result it had 201,000 miles on the clock and was still going strong and still has decent compression (150 across all six cylinders - lower than the max of 180 but above the minumum of 142) but i did the bad thing and ended up selling it about a month ago (i already miss it) anyways here is a website of some pics of my former ride http://twinturbo.allstarhost.com/wiggy/300zx/

Welcome and post some pics of your Z.
