Question Thinking about getting Unorthodox Pulley

I am considering getting an Unorthodox racing pulley, and I have a couple of questions. 1) Can you install this yourself without knowing how to take apart and put an engine back together blindfolded? 2) What is the new belt that you have to get, and about how much $$ is it? and 3) If you can do this yourself, about how long will it take?

this is something that you would only let a mechanic do unless you have a good knowledge of working on cars.......now I'm not saying you don't but that is a big project to do on a Z motor. As you know as well as the rest of us our motor is not the easiest to work on..... Go on TT.net and they are selling the UR crank pulley with the belts for $200 shipped...its a good buy!

IT actually shouldn't be that difficult, all you have to do is remove the drivebelts ( which can be a pain, but certainly not impossible) , remove the crank pulley with a puller and install the new pulley. Simple as that. Only other thing is to get stuff out of your way, may want to remove the lower rad hose. OR is it the upper hose and it goes down, well one of the radiator hoses anyway. Let me know what the gains are, thanks.

I have over 20,000 miles and love it. It's a pain to do if you don't have the right tools and the power steering pump is PITA. You can get a pulley puller for free at PEP boys that is what I did.

If you have a TT then you need these belts,
Nissan PN# '90-'93 TT: A172M-59S0AVW, '94+ TT & all NAs 11950-32F10 NAs and '94+ TT Power Steering
Nissan PN# A195M-97E0MVW Alternator
Nissan PN# A192M-42LOAVW A/C

And for a NA,
Gates PN# '90-'93 TT: 040350 '94+ TT & all NAs: 030350 Power Steering
Gates PN# 040390 Alternator
Gates PN# 040365 A/C

Good luck and take your time.
