Z32 TT wiring harness issues....

i have now obtained a 90 (4/90) Z32 TT 5 spd with HICAS

lots of issues but the most agrivation is the engine

most of the time it runs on all 6 cyl but sometimes it runs like crap!!

at first i thought it was a bad injector or coil pack but lately it has been running great!! only problem is now and then it does not do to well

when it runs good i can unplug any coil pack or injector and the engine is noticable diferent.

this brings me to the conclusion that the wires feeding either the injectors or coils may have a short somewhere.

what does it take to replace the wiring harness and or where are some common spots to look for shorts in the wires.

When is the last time you did a 60K or 120K tune up? Have you also done a ecu diagnostics?

just bought the car. has 96k. ecu diag not yet but check enging light comes on with key on then goes away after engine starts

and 99% of time car runs awsome!!

when i first got mine i had problems with the wiring harness where it runs between the timing belt cover and the radiator fan. right before and including the PTU. had massive corrosion on the connector on the timing belt cover and ended up having to replace the PTU. ran like complete crap before hand.

The check engine light coming on is normal. I would recommend you ask the previous owner if a 60K maintenance was preformed? If it wasn't I would highly recommend one. If the timing belt breaks the engine will be destroyed. A rebuilt/installed in the Z would cost around 4-6 G's.
