Converting from Automatic to Manual

I'm planning on converting my 300zx TT from auto to manual, what exactly has to be changed out? Does the Driveshaft need to be changed?

Yes the Driveshaft needs to be changed. I did this to my Z. Here is the parts list I made:

Needed Parts:

5 spd Transmission and driveline:
• Transmission w/ Speedometer Pinion & clutch fork assembly
• Transmission Bolts
• Transmission engine mount plate
• Clutch fork assembly w/ pivot ball
• New Clutch Fork Dust Boot
• 5 Spd Driveshaft

Clutch & Flywheel:
• Flywheel bolts & pins
• Clutch Disk
• Clutch Pressure Plate & bolts w/ washers
• Clutch Release Bearing
• Pilot Bushing
• Clutch Alignment Tool

Pedals and hydraulics:
• Clutch Pedal Assy
• 5 spd Brake Pedal
• Clutch Master Cylinder & Vacuum Tanks (If using TT Clutch pedal)
• Metal Hydraulic lines, union, & bleeder
• Rubber Hydraulic Lines
• Clutch Slave Cylinder

Shifter components:
• Shifter Linkage
• New upper & lower dust boots & bushings
• New Shifter Holder Bracket
• Leather shift boot
• Shift boot retainer
• Shift knob

Miscellaneous & Optional Parts / Service:
• 3 quarts of Redline MT-90, Royal Purple, or other quality gear oil
• A helper! (makes certain steps much easier with another set of hands)
• 1 quart DOT 3 Brake fluid for clutch system
• Rear Main Seal, Oil Pan Seal, and Retainer Gasket (PCV parts if needed)
• Transmission Mount
• New Center Carrier bearing for Driveshaft (if using used stock shaft)
• Flywheel resurfacing if installing a used flywheel (note the .008” Step for stock TT clutch setups)

Special Tools:
• Air impact wrench and impact sockets (makes certain steps much simpler)
• Transmission Jack
• Torx security bits (for airbag control unit)
• Clutch alignment tool
• 3' long x 1/2" extension
• 14 mm short socket in 1/2"
• 1/2" socket swivel
• Chisel or slide hammer for Auto pilot bushing

Good luck. Its a fun and relatively easy project if you are somewhat mechanically inclined.
