Valve noise, i think?
I recently purchased a 1990 nissan 300zx. And it periodically gets really loud when i start it cold. Once warmed up it sounds like a new engine, but before that it sounds like metal clashing against metal.
I have read that there are valve problems with the earlier produced models. This was produced in '89, so is there a fix to this? Does anyone know of any link where they tell you how to get to the valves, or remove them?
I recently changed the oil to try to make the noise go away, with 10w30 mobile 1 extended performance and a quart of lucas. I talked to the last owner and he said it always made noise when it was cold since it was almost new. THANKS!
