the job im currently employed at dosent pay me enough to go buy a TT or do a TT swap. i need a perfessional opinion, what could be some possible upgrades within $500? how effective? anything noticeable?
Automatic & NA?
I'm no professional, but I say just enjoy what you have, maintain it, shine it up and drive.
If you feel the need for improvement, brakes & suspension are always an upgrade for both TTs and NAs, this includes running a better wheel/tire set-up as well (aka natural look).
Aside from not being very cost effective, $500 won't net much noticeability (neither will $1000 for that matter as compared to the same upgrades on a TT), but that's just my opinion. Z

Under drive pulley. It will help your low end power.

(1) invest or (2) go gambling. i would do #2. then again, #2 is kind of like #1.
